In what is now regarded as one of the deadliest shooting in America, at least 58 people were killed and over 500 others wounded at a country music festival on the Las Vegas strip.
The shooter has been identified as Stephen Craig Paddock and he is 64-year-old. The shooting occurred while singer Jason Aldean performed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Authorities say that approximately 22,000 people attended the concert.
Although, ISIS released a statement claiming responsibility for the attack and added that Paddock was a late convert to Islam and a member of their group, but there is skepticism of ISIS’s claim because the police has no corroboration of the claim.
Police say the shooter was a law abiding citizen who has never had a run-in with the law. Paddock was a licensed hunter and pilot and he owned two planes. The police, his family as well as the general public are clueless as to why he decided to commit this heinous crime against humanity before taking his own life.
His family said that he never expressed such extremist radical Islamist views to them and that he had no religious or political affiliation.
Eye witnesses describe the scene as horrible and said that most of the concertgoers were trampling each other as they try to run out of the arena. About 3 months ago, U.S. Congressman, Clay Higgins, urged people to kill Muslim radicals.
