16-year-old Cheryl Pierson decided to hire a hitman to eliminate her dad for sexually abusing her for years. the killing took place in 1986 and the hitman who was Cheryl’s classmate charged her $1,000 but she gave him $400 deposit in partial payment and promised paying the rest after the deed was done.
People reports that as Pierson let her dog outside, she saw her father, James Pierson, 42, lying face-down in the snow, bleeding in their driveway. An incident that gave her a lot of joy instead of sorrow.
In the court hearing, Cheryl claimed she’d been repeatedly raped by her father and that she decided to kill him because that was her only option when she thought he was going to start abusing her 8-year-old sister.

Pica, who was the hitman, Cheryl and her boyfriend, Rob, who also helped in contributing money to hire the hitman, were all arrested and charged to court for the death of Pierson. They all confessed and were sentenced as follows:
Pica, then 18, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Rob, then 20, pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation and was given probation while Cheryl pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six months in jail.
When Cheryl was released from the prison, she married her boyfriend Rob, her boyfriend who was the accomplice.
