There was a rampage shooting at McDonald in a Munich shopping centre in Germany. Although eyewitness claimed to have seen at least 3 men with guns at the scene but German police have said in a police briefing that there appears to be only one gunman who acted alone and thereafter killed himself.
Nine people (including the gunman) were left dead in the attack. Police has also said that sixteen people were injured and that three of them were in critical condition.
The suspect was an 18-year-old German-Iranian dual national who lived in Munich. Police added that the body of the suspect was found about 1km (0.6 miles) from the Olympia shopping centre in the north-western suburb of Moosach.
However, the motive of the shooter is unclear for now and police are still investigating the case.
Based on the eyewitness account of the story that up to three gunmen had been involved in the attack., a huge manhunt was launched by the police.
Young people and adolescents are among the dead and children are among those injured. The dead victims are yet to be identified.
Eye witness reports that the German-Iranian suspect kept saying that he was a German.
This gives the indication that it was probably not a terrorist act as many may have thought but again, as at the time of this report, his motive was still unclear.
Furthermore, Munich police chief, Hubertus Andrae said in a news conference that the suspect had not been known to police and that there were no known links to any terror group.
Police in Munich has urged people to show respect to the dead ones and stop publishing photos of victims.
This is a breaking news and this report will be subject to amendment as soon as more details become available.
About a week ago, a teenage Afghan refugee armed with an axe and knife injured four people on a train in southern Germany before he was shot dead by police.
